Sweetest Day

Sweetest Day, a day inspired by the love and friendships we all cherish...

Always celebrated on the third Saturday in October, Sweetest Day was established in 1922 by Herbert Birch Kingston, a candy company employee in Cleveland, Ohio. He began to distribute candy and small gifts among underprivileged, orphans, and homeless because of his desire to bring happiness and to sweeten someone's day. Observance of the day started in Cleveland and then spread to other parts of the country. The Sweetest Day idea of spreading cheer to the underprivileged has evolved into a time to express love and appreciation to everyone from family members to sweethearts, from co-workers and neighbors to acquaintances.

This day exists as an opportunity for you to recognize that sweet and special someone. Fill this day with lots of hugs and kisses for the sweet one in your life.
